TESTIMONIALS

I joined the Biggest Loser because I knew I needed a change, and a very, very big one. I grew up in a family where healthy eating and exercise wasn't a priority. As an adult, eating had become a hobby, specifically large amounts of unhealthy food. I was addicted to soda, energy drinks, and caffeine in general. Exercising wasn't even a thought. Vegetables were rabbit food. I was the heaviest I had ever been. My poor health was also negatively impacting my family and 3 young kids. While playing with them I'd get easily winded, often choosing to sit out entirely. "Daddy is tired" or "Daddy hurt his back" was heard far too frequently.
When the Biggest Loser competition popped up in my newsfeed, I joined on a whim. I had nothing to lose! (Except a lot of weight of course!) I decided going through this journey with a team would help keep me motivated, so I joined a class. At first I really struggled. Trying to eat healthy sucked, but tracking everything in my food journal was extremely eye opening. Going to the gym three times a week was not my definition of fun. However, when I saw results on the scale the first 2 weeks, it was worth it. After that I went all in, kicked my bad habits for good, and focused on establishing the base of a sustainable, healthy lifestyle I could continue after the 12 week challenge ended.
Now that the challenge is over, I can say that the Biggest Loser has transformed my life. I needed something to force me to go all in and help me establish a sustainable lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise. I now have a weekly exercise routine I enjoy, have learned to love well prepared vegetables, have even prioritized some workouts while on vacation just because I wanted to, and also made some friends along the way! In total, I lost a ton of weight, over 55 lbs, but more importantly I'm now able to enjoy life with my family without pain, fatigue, and other health issues. My kids see the example their dad is setting, and I honestly feel like I've changed my family tree. Even before stepping on the scale for my final weigh-in, I'm already a winner.

I have participated in the Biggest Loser contest at the club for many years.  I have done it on my own and with a trainer.  I believe I have been more successful when I have a Trainer.  Sarah Kress was my trainer for this last contest.  Sarah is always prepared for classes (5:30 am) and always willing to answer your questions, during class, or any time you need her.  I found this support extremely helpful in my weight loss journey.  Sarah offered valuable insight in both my fitness goals as well as nutritional information.
The Princeton Club is an amazing facility.  The staff throughout the club is always supportive.  During the Biggest Loser contest when you sign in with your yellow sheets, they always offer words of encouragement.   Participating in the Biggest Loser contest offers challenges that require you to try various group exercise classes.  It’s up to you to take the classes.  This contest, I tried a few new classes.  Kickboxing was an eye opener for me.  I’ve never experienced a workout like it before.
Many thanks to all the staff and trainers that put in all the time and effort to make the Biggest Loser contest fun, challenging, competitive and rewarding.

Without a doubt, the Biggest Loser Competition was one of the best ways for me to jump start my fitness journey.  Participating in the group allowed me to meet individuals who have similar goals.  The biggest loser competition is more than just losing weight, it is about friendship, setting goals, holding each other accountable and most importantly, working as a team.  My coach was there for the ups and downs of the challenge.  She gave good feedback and suggestions on how to improve my fitness goals. Through the challenge, I have become more comfortable with the Princeton Club.  I have learned about other classes and groups that have helped me through my goals.  This season we focused on meal preparation, which is a key to losing weight.  With the help of my teammates and coach, I have learned to simplify the once daunting task to something effective. Overall, I recommend the biggest loser competition to anyone who is looking to jump start their fitness goals.

“The Biggest Loser Program has been a life changing program not only for me and my husband, but our family as well. The accountability of myself, my family and the team consistently showing up to the gym, followed by the knowledge from a certified trainer became important to me when I found myself coming to the gym and walking on the treadmill and not seeing a change in my lifestyle. I never knew what that meant until after the first year of the biggest loser program.
Through injury, pregnancy/birth, and returning to the gym, I leaned into always showing up and leaving with a new found confidence and a smile from my accomplishments. It feels good to take care of ourselves. I have enjoyed working with others and learning from them about what has helped them find success in their journey. This has created a wonderful community and become an important part of our lives.
In addition, it was a challenge learning how to adjust and be conscious of the foods we were eating, paired with how important both consistent exercise and creating savory healthy food options is, but was an added bonus.
Our coach Amy is a one of a kind trainer and I cannot thank her enough for the dedication she has given to me, my husband (biggest loser winner) and my teammates. Knowledgeable in her field as she has been loyal to the Princeton Club for many years, reliable for showing up and giving her all, and flexible in the prepared exercise routine fulfilling the group’s needs made each of the teammates feel special.
When I had injuries or was pregnant, she made sure we took precautions while still getting a targeted exercise. To share modifications in times of change in my body, were helpful in class and while on my own in the gym. This gave me confidence to try new exercises on my own.
I would highly recommend it and I hope you try it if you feel like your life needs a lifestyle change and you are unable to get there alone.
I know now I can do hard things and challenge myself”

Matty was a game changer in my fitness journey, and I cannot express my gratitude enough for him.  In terms of diet, Matty actively reviewed my food journal weekly and provided constructive criticism and guidance. He encouraged me to get my calories in check, even commenting on sodium levels and encouraged variety, fresh foods and to stay away from processed foods. He emphasized adequate water intake too.
The part of the challenge where each pound or two lost gave the team points was very motivating to get my diet in order. I didn't have a hard time exercising; I had a hard time eating the right foods and in the right portions. I loved the nutritional challenges with Kelly, as I learned so much to fine tune my eating habits. I needed the competition to gain points for the team to get my personal act together.
As to workout friends, I definitely made some and feel so good about now having a group of people to reach out to for a workout buddy in class. I really didn't know anyone from Princeton Club before the challenge (other than a friend from my prior gym), so to have that familiarity and see people about that I know provides much comfort.
As to dropping weight, I was able to shave off 16.3 pounds and drop just about 3% body fat. I am continuing on in the program and plan to watch my fat intake closer to get my body fat percent lower along with dropping another 15 pounds. I see this truly as a lifestyle change. I know with Matty my trainer in my corner and this new set of friends, that I will be able to s
I am so thankful for this program. It was so much more than I knew just from the marketing materials. If people are looking for more than just weight loss - like finding friendship, support and getting their diet under control, this program offers everything that is needed and more.

What did Biggest Loser Summer 2023 do for me?
It did two things: It gave me a needed second chance and it made the Princeton Club a giant support system.
Having won the competition once before 5 years ago, I was nervous because I would have to admit that the weight came back, and I let it happen.  I was never gone from the gym, but I had stopped paying close attention.
But knowing I had done it once before, I hoped I could do it again.
My wife also wanted to enter the competition again and the support at home is always a plus.  We could and would support each other and push each other when needed and we did.  It always helps to have a gym buddy.
So, I started again, day by day, week by week and pound by pound. Through daily hard work and daily focus, it worked.
My yellow sheet got signatures and I tracked food and exercise in the app.
An additional plus is it made the Princeton Club become even more of a daily support system.  Everyone is rooting for you and cheering you on.  From the front desk signing your yellow sheet to trainers on the gym floor and in classes - everyone wants you to succeed.
You even talk to more members – how you are doing and how they are doing – cheering each other on becomes common place.
With this contest over – I finished 3rd and lost 43.2 pounds. I feel great!
However, my journey continues – I have more to lose, and I am glad to be doing it at the Princeton Club.
I have nothing but thanks and gratitude to the staff and members of the Princeton Club.
I will try to continue to move forward and keep going.
I look forward to seeing you at the Club and please feel free to say hi or ask for a spot – Ryan

The Princeton Club and the Biggest Loser contest have been life changing for me. I've discovered I'm capable of so much more than I thought I was. The contest taught me to prioritize myself and gave me the tools to ensure my diet and workouts were safe and productive for me. The accountability and consistent support and guidance from my trainer helped me stay on track and build confidence every step of the way. Biggest Loser put me on a path to being happy, healthy and fit. I'm really proud of what I have achieved.

The Biggest Loser is a great way to kickstart your weight loss goals. It helps hold you accountable for what you are doing, from working out to eating. It is especially motivating for anyone competitive like myself. Learning new workouts outside of free-weights was very helpful for working out outside of the program. I think the thing I was most surprised to learn was just how many calories are in some of the things we eat. The food log was incredibly eye opening. Overall, this is a great program to kickstart or get over a plateau on your weight loss and I highly recommend it. -Mario DiBenedetto
